Give & Receive – Frequently Asked Questions

Last updated: 6 December 2025 • Issued by Give & Receive (AUST) Pty Ltd (ABN 396 633 243 47)

1. What is Give & Receive?

Give & Receive is an agency for social good that helps businesses support charities and not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) in a sustainable way. We connect giving with marketing—allowing your business to do good while being recognised for it.

2. How does Give & Receive work?

When your business contributes to Give & Receive, the funds are treated as a marketing or community-engagement payment—not a donation. Give & Receive invests these funds and uses the returns to support selected charities and NFPs over time. This creates a continuous cycle of giving where the impact of each dollar multiplies.

3. Are my payments donations or marketing expenses?

All contributions made to Give & Receive are classified as marketing and promotional expenditure. This means they are not tax-deductible donations, but may be claimable as a business marketing expense. Please confirm your eligibility with your accountant or tax adviser.

4. How are the funds used?

All funds received become part of Give & Receive’s operational capital. We invest these funds to generate sustainable returns. The returns are distributed as follows:

• A portion goes to selected charities and NFPs.
• A portion supports marketing and awareness campaigns.
• The remainder is reinvested to grow future giving capacity.

5. Can I choose which charities or not-for-profits benefit?

Yes. You can nominate your preferred charities or NFPs when you participate. While Give & Receive aims to honour your preferences, final allocation decisions remain at our discretion to ensure fairness, compliance, and long-term sustainability.

6. How does the sustainability model work?

Unlike traditional giving, where the dollar is spent once, Give & Receive invests all received funds to create a growing capital base. The investment returns are then shared with NFPs and reinvested—so over time, the impact of each dollar increases, helping the charitable sector achieve true financial sustainability.

7. How often do I need to give to stay active?

To maintain active status and qualify for continued promotions and recognition, each participating business must contribute again during each new financial year.

8. What is the Leaderboard?

The Leaderboard recognises the businesses that contribute through Give & Receive. It’s ranked by cumulative giving amounts, with the top ten participants receiving additional marketing exposure and promotional priority. Leaderboard rankings are based on transparent criteria and are not a competition or prize draw.

9. What is the Give & Receive Badge?

When your business contributes, you receive the Give & Receive Verified Badge — a mark that shows your brand is part of the movement for sustainable impact. The Badge is the exclusive property of Give & Receive (AUST) Pty Ltd and may be used only with our permission. It can be displayed on your website, marketing materials, or social media only while your participation remains current. To maintain use of the Badge, you must make a new contribution each financial year. If participation lapses or the Badge is misused, permission to display it may be withdrawn and it must be removed from all materials.

10. Does Give & Receive act as a privacy firewall?

Yes. Give & Receive acts as a firewall between businesses and the charities / NFPs that receive funding. We aggregate and distribute contributions so that your identity and contact information are not shared with the nominated organisations. This prevents unwanted contact, marketing, or solicitation from charities. You can support causes you care about while remaining private—free from follow-up calls or donation requests.

11. Does Give & Receive earn fees or commissions?

Yes. Give & Receive may receive fees, commissions, or profit shares from investment returns, marketing partnerships, or service providers associated with the Platform. These funds are retained to support operations, administration, and our mission of social sustainability.

12. Is Give & Receive a financial services provider or charity?

No. Give & Receive is a marketing and social-impact agency, not a financial-services provider or registered charity. We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and do not provide financial or investment advice.

13. Is my payment tax-deductible?

No. Contributions to Give & Receive are not tax-deductible donations. However, they may be considered legitimate business marketing or promotional expenses depending on your circumstances.

14. Is my information kept private?

Yes. Your privacy matters to us. We only publish business names on leaderboards unless you request anonymity. All personal details are handled according to our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and global privacy standards such as GDPR. Charities and NFPs do not receive contributor contact details.

15. How does Give & Receive ensure transparency?

We provide participants with updates, reports, and ongoing communication about the social impact achieved through the Give & Receive model. Our Terms & Conditions outline how funds are managed and distributed.
